We play 9-Man because it comes with real history behind it. This format was built by immigrant communities who needed a place to gather, belong, and lift each other up through sport. NACIVT keeps that legacy alive, and we take that seriously.
We're backed by and Build the Ambition, and we didn't pick them by accident. IVBall LA keeps the grassroots spirit going, casual but real, welcoming to anyone who shows up. Build the Ambition is a registered nonprofit that makes sure that spirit lasts, using sport to open doors around health, education, and access.
Competition sharpens us. Community keeps us standing. We compete to win, but we also compete to leave this game better than we found it.
The Origin & Growth
LA Sun isn't chasing one moment of glory. We're a mix of athletes, some new to the game, some who've been grinding for years, and we've all hit that point where winning gold stops being the only thing that matters. That's not a letdown. It just means growth looks different now.
The sun taught us that. One goal sets, another one rises. The light never really disappears, it just shifts. That's where we live. We still compete hard, we still want the win, but we care just as much about sticking around, playing with intention, and loving the game.
