To inspire a healthy lifestyle through fitness activities, team sports and education — all while promoting comradery and a sense of community.
- OUR STORY
It started with a 22-year-old who believed in the power of a team.
Build the Ambition was founded in 2006 by Bich (Bicky) Ta. Bicky's own journey began as a college student who discovered something rare on a volleyball court — real teamwork, loyalty, and the kind of bond that only comes from working hard toward something together.
She saw firsthand how much a team could change someone's life when given the chance to compete, and how much work it took behind the scenes to make that chance possible for players who couldn't otherwise afford it.
Build the Ambition was built on that same belief: that sport, community, and opportunity should be within reach for everyone — not just those who can already afford it.

Spaces to learn, play, and compete.
Build the Ambition gives the LA community real access to volleyball — from a first practice to a national bracket.
Indoor, Outdoor, & Grass Play
We provide indoor, outdoor courts, and grass space for players of every level to learn the game, practice, and build community — no experience required.
Competitive Teams
Beyond community play, we help build and back teams that compete in local and national tournaments — giving players a path from first touch to competitive court.

A day in the sun.
Our grass tournaments bring the community together for a full day of sport, connection, and fun — open, welcoming, and built to bring new players into the game.
